Ω3/Ω6 EFA Supplement for Dogs and Cats
Optimal 5:1 ratio of Ω6 and Ω3 fatty acids
The 5:1 ratio provides for optimal influence on the
inflammatory cascade to promote the production of
anti-inflammatory mediators. The ratio allows loading
of the cell membranes with Ω3 fatty acids. The synergistic
effects of both Ω6 and Ω3 EFA’s are beneficial in restoring
skin integrity and providing an anti-inflammatory effect.
Co-factors and antioxidants
Vitamins A, B, E and zinc enhance the effects of the EFA’s.
They are also beneficial in nourishing the skin and coat.
Antioxidants in Megaderm® (eg. Vitamin E) guarantee an
optimal preservation of the EFA’s from the manufacture
until their metabolic use.
Complete Dietary Supplement
The minimum daily EFA requirement in dogs is 200mg/kg
(and it is at least 50% more for cats). Megaderm® delivers a
dose greater than 200mg/kg/day of high quality EFA’s.
Megaderm® can be a useful adjunct in the treatment of
chronic pruritus, seborrhoea and allergy (eg. FAD and atopy).
In cases of canine atopic dermatitis Megaderm® can assist in
minimising the dose of corticosteriod therapy required
(steroid-sparing effect).
MEGADERM®
Linoleic Acid (LA) is derived from the purest form of sunflower oil and evening primrose oil.
Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) is derived from the purest form of evening primrose oil.
Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) are both derived from cold
water fish oils.
